Last year 161 King County residents were diagnosed with HIV, the lowest number since 1994. This is a 51% decrease in new HIV diagnoses overall.
Public health has identified a cluster of 8 people with HIV infection in north Seattle. All were living homeless and injected or used illicit drugs.
U=U: People living with HIV, who have undetectable levels of HIV in their blood, have effectively no risk of transmitting HIV to their partners.
